The floater message is a great feature, but it does not get your attention - just a line of bold text across the top of the page where it is easy to miss. Suggest programming it to blink on and off for a few seconds when you first arrive at the site.

"blinking" I think some people would find that annoying.

However, I do agree with your basic premise that the floater could use some improvement. I have already basically done that to some extent in the development code for the next update. (but no blinking)

Steve, Thanks for your reply to my suggestion
.
My original thought was stimulated by how easy it is to miss the floater message, squeezed way up there at the top. After I created my first one, I had to look for quite awhile to find it when I went to the site. A visitor who is not looking for it may well fail to notice it.

I understand your concern about blinking messages being an annoyance to some people. However if it blinked on and off for just a few seconds say 3 to 5 seconds at half-second intervals (and then stayed on), believe it would attract attention without becoming an annoyance.

Steve,

Is it possible for the "floater" to start in the middle, then slide up?

I think there is likely to be a lot of variety in what people consider to be good approaches.

True. Some want on, some off, some fly, some spin. If you build a horse by committee, you get a camel.
